"I'm not a baseball player outside” - Jazz Chisholm Jr. talks about being a secret rapper and producing songs under the name ‘Prince Jazz’

Jazz Chisholm Jr. is the new New York Yankees star who has been off to a great start since being acquired by the Bronx Bombers at the trade deadline last month. He's smashed home runs and done well on defense after moving to third base.

However, this time Chisholm talked about something not related to baseball. The slugger has other talents apart from playing ball. Not many are aware that Chisholm has composed and produced around 200 songs. That's right, he's a rapper, who goes under the name Prince Jazz.

In a post by Fox Sports MLB, Chisholm opened up on his off-field activities, saying that he's been a rapper, working along with producer Julio Angel Fernandez Jr.

"I go home and I forget about baseball," Chisholm said. "I'm not a baseball player outside of baseball. Just rapping about my life outside of it."

Chisholm also records songs with his former teammate, Nick Gordon of the Miami Marlins. He is also tied with the agency Roc Nation, which was founded by renowned rapper Jay Z. What started as a hobby soon turned out to be more frequent.

Chisholm has more or less kept his hobby a secret as several are unaware of who Prince Jazz really is. He said that his teammates were unaware when he played his songs in the clubhouse.

"They don't know. Nope," Chisholm said. "Nobody in here knows they're listening to me — except the clubbies."

Jazz Chisholm Jr. responds to anonymous players poll calling him the most overrated in baseball

Jazz Chisholm Jr. is pretty straightforward with his approach. While several players anonymously called him the most overrated in baseball in a poll in The Athletic this summer, Chisholm said:

"I didn't really care. Who cares what somebody else has to say about me? If he really voted that I'm overrated, that means you got something in your psyche, brother.".

Chisholm took the comments positively.

"Like me, I'm not going out and voting who's an overrated player because I don't even know who an overrated player is. I don't look at people that hard. I only look at people who are good, I'm sorry. So, you call me overrated, I gotta be good. That's how I look at it."

The Yankees slugger has already smashed seven home runs for his new team. Chisholm has settled in well in the Bronx and is already one of the fan favorites.
