"I'm a third child so I'm always yelling" - When Justin Verlander's wife Kate Upton shared how she gets 'uncomfortable' around the dinner table

Justin Verlander's wife, Kate Upton, is a supermodel who has made the covers of nearly every reputed magazine, especially Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, where she has appeared four times. She uses her platform to end stereotypes concerning the modeling world and societal issues.

Kate was born to Shelley and Jeff Upton and grew up with three siblings. As the third child of four, Upton made a candid revelation in a Feb. 2020 interview on Whitney Cummings' "Good for You" podcast:

"I'm a third child so I'm always yelling cuz I just think no one hears me. ... But it also makes me feel really uncomfortable when, like the table goes silent, people are actually hearing me. I'm like no, this is not how life is supposed to work." (1:26)

The to-and-fro conversation between Cummings (who also shares the same trait as the model) and Kate continued on a variety of topics, including childbirth and what follows.

Justin Verlander's wife Kate Upton breaks breastfeeding rumors

Shortly after Justin Verlander won the World Series in Nov. 2017, he and Kate Upton exchanged vows after three years of dating. The following year, on Nov. 7, 2018, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Genevieve Upton Verlander.

During the same episode with Whitney Cummings, the host asked Upton whether breastfeeding burns calories. Breaking the stereotype, Upton said:

"It didn’t for me. It didn’t for me, yeah. And I have a whole theory that it’s all lies because every one of my friends who bounced back after pregnancy formula-fed—they didn’t breastfeed. All of my friends who were breastfeeding were swollen and holding on to the extra weight, probably because you also require more calories to breastfeed." (52:00)

Over time, Kate Upton has broken many stereotypes, especially those surrounding fitness and the modeling industry, which are now among the more pressing topics she addresses.
