"I miss my wife and daughters" - Mets star Francisco Lindor on staying focused during intense White Sox series

New York Mets infielder Francisco Lindor misses his family when traveling around the country to play baseball. Lindor is married to Katia and has two daughters: Kalina Zoe, aged three, and Amapole Chloe, aged one. His family is often seen cheering the shortstop on at Citi Field.

Lindor is having a strong season, batting leadoff for the Mets, hitting .269 along with 29 home runs and 80 RBIs. After the Mets' latest victory against the Chicago White Sox, Lindor looks forward to meeting his family.

"We're going to enjoy today, and soon as we land in New York we're going to see our family, spend some time with them, I miss my wife and daughters," Lindor said [1:00].

Lindor was happy with the team's efforts in the series sweep over the White Sox.

"You just gotta stay with each other and compete. Let the outside know that whatever's happening around us won't affect us. Everybody knew that we have a task in front of us, and we had to take care of business," Lindor said.
"We went day by day, their pitching staff did good, whenever they made mistakes we capitalised on it. No one was trying to do too much, it seemed like everyday it was somebody different [who showed up]. Hats off to the guys, everyone of us came out this weekend and gave everything we had."

Francisco Lindor homers as Mets sweep White Sox

The New York Mets swept the three-game series against the Chicago White Sox with a 2-0 win on Saturday.

The game began with both starters on their game, going three innings without allowing either side a hit. However, the deadlock was broken in the fourth inning as the Mets took the lead. Francisco Lindor homered off White Sox ace Garrett Crochet deep to left field and out of the park in the top of the fourth.

Another run in the top of the ninth added some insurance for what was a comfortable victory for the visitors.

The Mets head back home to take on the Boston Red Sox for their next game, the first of a three-game series on Monday. With the Atlanta Braves losing three out of four to the Philadelphia Phillies, Francisco Lindor and Co. will look to keep winning and make their way into the top three of the NL wildcard standings.
