"I read them all to Max" - Freddie Freeman's wife Chelsea shares precious gift Dodgers family gave to son amid health emergency
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman hasn't featured for the team for almost a week. The All-Star slugger is missing in action, as he's with his family, taking care of his ailing son Maximus.
Freddie Freeman's wife Chelsea revealed last month that their three-year-old Maximus has been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder. Chelsea shared that Max is batting with paralysis after a "severe case of Guillain-Barre syndrome."
After Freeman's wife shared the news on Instagram, there was a huge outpour of support on social media, with prayers pouring out for Max. In her latest Instagram story, Chelsea shared a glimpse of the journal with all the messages for Max.
"Got the sweetest package yesterday. Our whole Dodgers Family wrote prayers and well wishes for Max. The whole journal was filled. I read them all to Max last night," Chelsea wrote in her story.
In this rare disorder neurological disorder, the patient's immune system attacks the peripheral nerves and causes weakness with tingling. However, in severe cases, it can lead to paralysis, similar to Freeman's son's case.
Max showed symptoms for the first time after the All-Star break, and his condition deteriorated rapidly, as shared by Chelsea.
Freddie Freeman's wife, Chelsea, blown away by recovery of ailing son
Chelsea Freeman shared another story with Maximus in the frame. She updated her followers on the well-being of the three-year-old with some positive news. Max can be seen with a brave smile beside his mother in the latest clip.
"Feeding tube came out yesterday. I'm so proud of Max. The first few days we had so many scary setbacks, but he has been improving so quicky. I cannot believe it. He blows me away," Chelsea wrote.
Freddie Freeman arrived at the hospital where Max was being diagnosed after leaving the Dodgers team preparing for the series against the Houston Astros last month. He has missed all games for his team since then, fulfilling his duties as a father.
