"I was sad to see him go" - Aaron Judge gets emotional after seeing ex-teammate Carlos Narvaez enjoy success with Red Sox

Carlos Narvaez is enjoying a strong first season at Fenway Park. He is batting .282 with six home runs and 22 RBIs for the Red Sox.

However, before moving to Boston, the catcher was on the books of its archrivals, the New York Yankees. He signed with them an international free agent in July 2015.

During his time with the Bronx Bombers, Narvaez's work ethic earned him many admirers, one of whom was Aaron Judge. As reported by MLB insider Ian Browne, Judge was "sad to see Narvaez leave" when the Venezuelan departed via a trade in December.

"Narvy is a hard worker, a great teammate, one of the best we ever had over here," Judge said on Sunday. "I was sad to see him go, but excited for the opportunity he's getting right now. He's really doing his thing over there, swinging it well.
"He had a short time coming up with us for a little bit and the stuff I saw in Spring Training and stuff I heard about, everybody loved him. He outworked everybody in this room. So it doesn't surprise me he's having the success he is this year."

Carlos Narvaez and Aaron Judge went yard in rollercoaster Yankees-Red Sox series finale on Sunday

The New York Yankees took on the Boston Red Sox for the rubber game of their three-game series at Yankee Stadium on Sunday. Fans expected plenty of fireworks in the latest iteration of this fiery rivarly.

That's exactly what they got, as a rollercoaster of a game saw eight home runs hit, eventually finishing 11-7 to the Red Sox, which allowed the visitors to clinch the series.

Aaron Judge and Carlos Narvaez went yard for their teams. DJ LeMahieu, Rafael Devers, Abraham Toro-Hernandez, Trevor Story and Kristian Campbell also got into the action.

As both teams aim to make a deep postseason run, their fans will be hoping Narvaez and Judge can continue leading by example at the plate, and help their teams to victory.
