"If that's in there, what else is in there?" - Trevor Bauer stunned after seeing $10,000 case in 'Deal or No Deal' battle vs. King of Juco Eric Sim
Trevor Bauer might be the new king of baseball social media. Despite not pitching in the MLB since 2021, the former Cy Young Award winner has done an admirable job at building his presence of social media. Not only has Bauer been able to use the platform to share his exploits in the Mexican League with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico, he's also combined baseball with unique competitions.
One of the latest social media competitions Bauer has been battling in is against fellow baseball influencer Eric Sim, better known as the King of Juco. As part of their collaboration, the two have taken part in a showdown in the same vein as the hit television game show Deal or No Deal.
Bauer and Sim take part in 10 different at-bats, with the winner of each showdown eliminating one of the 10 briefcases sitting near them. After the end of each at-bat, the winner will choose the case, revealing the prize that Eric Sim missed out on, as he will be presented with the final remaining case.
Unfortunately for Sim, Bauer's latest social meda post revealed he missed out on a whopping $10,000. Bauer claims to not know what contents are inside of each case, so the $10,000 revelation even came as a surprise to the former Dodgers star.
"You would have won $10,000? Who put that in there? Who's paying that money? Yeah that's gone but if that's in there, what else is in there?"
Although Bauer may have been acting like he did not know what was inside the cases, the former Cincinnati Reds ace claimed while he doesn't know what is in them, he heard some are good and some are bad. It will be interesting to see what else is inside the cases, as Bauer already showed one prize was him being Sim's personal assistant for 24 hours.
Trevor Bauer finally completed viral Ichiro Suzuki bat throwing challenge
Bauer may never pitch in the MLB again but it seems his career as a social media influencer might be taking off. Not only is he battling Eric Sim in the Deal or No Deal competition but he also completed a viral challenge made famous by Seattle Mariners legend Ichiro Suzuki.
In a video that has lived on longer than Ichiro's MLB career, the Japanese outfielder can be seen throwing four consecutive baseballs, knocking down an upside down baseball bat with each one. It may have taken Bauer 10 days of attempts but after some minor adjustments, he finally got it done.
