"Imma punch his ticket" - Ex-Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer guarantees coach of strikeout during Mexican League start

Trevor Bauer continues to keep his fans and followers posted on his baseball journey. The former National League Cy Young Award winner has been plying his trade in the Mexican League this season, posting daily videos of his performances and breaking down pitch sequences.

"Trevor Bauer pitched 8.2 innings yesterday while striking out 19 hitters in the Mexican league. Absolutely insane. Yet MLB doesn’t want him back in the league…." - @BasebaIlKing

Love him or hate him, Trevor Bauer has done a good job at remaining in the public eye as he looks to earn another opportunity with a major league club. The outspoken pitcher has been strong this season for the Diablos Rojos del Mexico, delivering a number of noteworthy performances as he attempts to prove why he deserves another shot in the MLB.

In one of the latest videos that he shared, Bauer highlighted a recent discussion that he had with his catcher Jose Briceno. In the video, Bauer and Briceno can be seen discussing their plan of attack.

"I think we go first pitch curveball here," Bauer told Briceno. "And then we can get him with that split again," he continued.

Later in the video, Bauer's pitching coach Roberto Espinoza can be seen talking to the former Los Angeles Dodgers star, telling him that it would be the final batter he would face. Bauer confidently told his coach, "Imma punch his ticket." He did just that, racking up the strikeout on only four pitches.

The success of a former Yankees star has raised questions about Trevor Bauer's Mexican League success

There is no denying that Bauer has posted some impressive numbers so far this season in Mexico. Through 81.0 innings this year, Bauer has posted an outstanding 10-0 record with a 1.78 ERA, 0.975 WHIP, and 117 strikeouts. That being said, some have begun to question the quality of the league as a whole given the success of another former MLB All-Star.

Former New York Yankees superstar Robinson Cano has been simply incredible this season in the Mexican League. Over 61 games this season, the eight-time All-Star has posted an unfathomable .457 batting average with 13 home runs, 65 RBIs, and a 1.202 OPS.

Cano's success has some doubting if Trevor Bauer's success if for real or if the level of his competition is simply far below that of the MLB. This could be another reason why some clubs have been reluctant to sign the former All-Star pitcher.
