Starting pitcher Alec Marsh had a decent 2024 season, finishing the campaign with a 9-9 record, along with a 4.53 ERA and 123 strikeouts. The 26-year-old was an important part of skipper Matt Quartaro's pitching staff en route to the ALDS.
A constant source of support for the Kansas City Royals pitcher all season long was his fiancée, now wife, Makenna Harper. The couple had earlier announced their engagement in November of 2023 and with the 2024 baseball season done and dusted, the couple decided to tie the knot.
The couple married on December 7, in a grand event that took place in Fallbrook, California. Several other big leaguers, such as Bobby Witt Jr. (Kansas City Royals), Vinnie Pasquantino (Kansas City Royals) and Spencer Torkelson (Detroit Tigers) showed up to celebrate with the newlyweds.
Alec Marsh posts message of thanks after 2024 season comes to a close
The Kansas City Royals had a great 2024 season, making it to the postseason for the first time since they won the World Series back in 2015. After edging a low-scoring wildcard series against the Baltimore Orioles, the Royals ultimately fell to pennant winners the New York Yankees.
As the curtain fell on a campaign, Alec Marsh took to Instagram to post a series of snaps of memorable moments from the past year, along with a heartfelt message of thanks to his teammates, coaches and Royals fans.
"What a year KC! Unforgettable memories and battles. This is what we want to do for a long time and it’s just the beginning. All love for my teammates and coaches and most importantly the fans of Kansas City." Alec Marsh captioned.
Marsh is taking time off to spend with his wife. The focus will shift back to baseball in the new year, with spring training usually beginning in February. The Royals will be aiming to continue the way they ended the 2024 season and make it to the playoffs for the second year in a row in 2025.
