Alex Rodriguez & Co. and Glen Taylor's ownership dispute won't see an end anytime soon
Earlier this year, Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynz owners got into a dispute with regards to the sale of ownership stakes.
Alex Rodriguez and his partner Marc Lore were buying 40% of the ownership stake to become majority owners of the franchise from principle owner Glen Taylor. However, reported delays in payments had Taylor voiding the agreement of sale, resulting in a dispute.
That led to both parties seeking arbitration to resolve the dispute. However, according to the Star Tribune, the arbitration dates have been moved to Nov., which means the case will now be looked into shortly after the NBA season starts.
The crux of the matter remains on payment terms after A-Rod and his partner Lore missed the March deadline where they were supposed to make the final payment of $1.5 billion to complete the sale, which could have given them 80% stake in the franchise.
However, as they missed the deadline, Taylor wants to void the old agreement. However, A-Rod and his partner mentioned that they had filled out the required paperwork with the NBA to trigger a 90-day allowance to make the payment.
Thus, Minnesota fans will need to wait until November to know more about the resolution of the ownership conflict.
