Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. got married to high school sweetheart Maggie Black on Saturday at Dallas, Texas. The AL MVP runner-up is comng off the biggest season of his MLB career so far and took an even bigger step in his personal life when he proposed to girlfriend Maggie Black earlier this year.
The high school sweethearts tied the knot on Saturday night in front of friends and family, and photos of their special day and already made the rounds on social media.

Bobby Witt Jr. met Maggie Black while attending Colleyville Heritage High School in Texas and the two hit it off and started dating at a young age. After graduating high school, Maggie wenty on to pursue a degree in Health and Exercise Science in Northwestern State University of Louisiana while Witt Jr. was drafted by the Kansas City Royals.
Maggie has been Bobby's biggest supporter as he made his way up into the major leagues. After a standout season in 2023, Witt Jr. signed a 11-year, $288.7 million contract extension with the Royals, which was the largest in franchise history. He repaid their faith in him by winning the AL batting title with a .332 ERA and finished second in the AL MVP voting behind Aaron Judge.
The photos shared by Maggie on her Instagram profile feature the happy couple posing, singing and cutting the wedding cake together, surrounded by their friends and family. There were several of his Royals teammates also present with their partners at the wedding celebrations.
Bobby Witt Jr. receives highest bonus ahead of wedding celebrations with Maggie Black
Just days before getting married to high school girlfriend Maggie Black, Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. received the higest bonus in the MLB for his performance in 2024. The 24-year-old was eligible for a $1.75 million from the bonus pool for finishing second in the AL MVP voting, and an additional $1 million for making the All-MLB first team.
Moreover, he also received bonuses for winning the MLB batting title, which brought his total bonus to a little over $3 million, the highest in the MLB. Coming off the best season in his career while also taking a huge step in his personal life, there is no other player who deserves the bonus more than Witt Jr.
