Gerrit Cole's wife, Amy, is a dedicated mother to their kids, Caden and Everett and frequently shares moments from her personal family time. She is often spotted inside the Yankee Stadium cheering and enjoying Cole's home starts for the Yankees.
The Bronx Bombers just completed a three-game series against the Nationals on the road. Gerrit Cole started the second game in the series, which unfortunately ended in a loss for the Yanks. Despite losing the series, the Yankees pitcher took time out for his family as they toured around some of the iconic locations in DC. Amy Cole took to her Instagram account to share stories from the fun family trip.
Amy Cole comes from a baseball family and used to play softball during her college days. She met Gerrit when they were both college athletes playing for the UCLA Bruins. Gerrit Cole was an up-and-coming pitcher in America and was selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Pirates in the 2011 MLB draft.
Amy, on the other hand, had won the 2010 Women's College World Series with the Bruins. After dating for several years, Gerrit finally proposed to her after the 2015 All-Star game. The couple had an extravagant wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Santa Barbara, California on November 12, 2016.
Reflecting on her wedding nuptials, Amy said:
"I remember watching friends and family members from all different paths of our lives enjoying one another, laughing, singing, and tearing up the dance floor. I'll never forget how special that was to take in."
The duo welcomed their first child, a son, Caden Gerrit Cole, on June 30, 2020. 2.5 years later, they welcomed their second child, a son whom they named Everett Cole, on January 2, 2023. The happy family of four reside in the Bronx, where Gerrit has been playing ball with the Yankees since 2020.
Gerrit Cole has been inconsistent with his starts in 2024
While he missed the opening two months of the campaign due to an injury to his pitching elbow sustained during the spring season, Gerrit Cole has been highly inconsistent with his starts this campaign.
So far, he is 5-3 for the season, with a 3.86 ERA, 69 strikeouts and 1.33 WHIP. Cole will be making his next start in the series opener against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field on Monday.
