In Photos: Jackson Holliday's wife Chloe gushes over 'OG rookie card' of Orioles rising star husband as a 4-year-old
Jackson Holliday's wife Chloe shared a special collectible item of her husband's on social media. She posted an 'OG Rookie Card' of the Orioles second baseman on her Instagram story, but it wasn't like the other cards.
This particular card had a four-year-old Jackson squaring up to bat during his father Matt's playing days with the Colorado Rockies.
The front face of the bright purple card featured a picture of young Jackson in a field, possibly Coors Field, sporting his dad's #5 Colorado Rockies jersey with a bat in his left hand. On the side, the words 'Future All-Star' were also written, a prediction that might come true in the near future.
Chloe also shared the backside of the card that contained his player profile. The four-year-old definitely hadn't locked in the 2B role as his preferred fielding position read as 'left field,' which is also his dad's position. Even his batting stance was printed as right-handed. The highlight of it all was the 'Favorite Coach, Player and Dad' line featuring his father.
Jackson Holliday triples on his 'return' to Colorado
In a full-circle moment, Jackson Holliday hit an RBI triple to right field in the ninth inning as the Orioles won 5-3 against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. In a video posted to the MLB's Instagram page, his hit on Friday was compared to a young Jackson playing at the iconic ground and rounding bases.
The Orioles infielder has shown that he does belong in the majors. Since being called back at the end of last month, the 2022 MLB Draft No.1 pick has been hitting .216 with 19 RBIs including 5 home runs.
His season average is still under the Mendoza line at .176, though. He'll need a strong month of September to get some respectable stats to end his first-ever season in the big league.
