Seattle Mariners star Julio Rodriguez's girlfriend and soccer star, Jordyn Huitema, is gearing up for her next challenge at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she will represent Team Canada. The preparations for the national team have already started, with a precamp held in Marbella, Spain.
On Friday, Huitema shared a series of photos from her trip on her Instagram account. Apart from sweating on a soccer field, she and her teammates are also enjoying their time in the resort city. Huitema posted images of undergoing soccer drills, a day well spent on a yacht, roaming the streets of Marbella and making new friends.
"Precamp✔️ Olympics 🔜" she wrote in her caption.
The 23-year-old forward, who was part of Team Canada when it won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, was elated to be named to the 2024 Paris Olympics squad. Huiteman posted a gratitude post on social media, where she wrote:
"This country and team have given me my most memorable times in this sport. It’s time to go make some more. Thank you to everyone who helped make this dream a reality for the second time #paris2024 #olympics."
The Seattle Reign soccer star will share a competitive forward field with Janine Beckie (Portland Thorns), Cloé Lacasse (Arsenal), Adriana Leon (Aston Villa), Nichelle Prince (Kansas City Current) and Evelyne Viens (AS Roma).
Before Julio Rodriguez, Jordyn Huitema was dating left back and winger for German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich, Alphonso Davies. The celebrity couple mutually parted ways in May 2022.
Jordyn Huitema celebrates Julio Rodriguez's first home run of the 2024 season
Seattle Mariners center fielder and former AL Rookie of the Year Julio Rodriguez got off to a slow start this season, taking almost a month to belt his first home run. Upon his first homer of the season, his girlfriend, Jordyn Huitema, celebrated it on social media, writing:
"First of many."
Despite the slow start to the season, Rodriguez is doing well of late. In 98 games played this season, the 23-year-old is hitting .265, including 10 home runs, 35 RBIs and 18 stolen bases. If the Mariners were to make the postseason, they would want last year's version of Rodriguez.
