Second baseman Luis Arraez had a strong 2024 season, finishing the campaign with four home runs, 46 RBIs and a .314 batting average, taking home the NL batting title in the process. A key pillar of support for the Venezuelan off the pitch is his wife, Gladys Penalver.
On Thursday, Penalver took to Instagram, as she showed off her latest chic look, pairing an oversized leather blazer with a matching skirt.

Just like the San Diego Padres infielder, Gladys Penalver also hails from Venezuela. They had been dating for quite some time before tying the knot in 2016. The pair currently have three daughters together.
Luis Arraez's wife takes to Instagram to post adorable family photos enjoying the holiday cheer
With Christmas approaching, Luis Arraez's wife, Gladys Penalver, took to Instagram on the first day of December to share a series of adorable photos, featuring her daughters Emma, Esther and Esthela.
"December 1st, the most beautiful month of the year 🎄🎅 I wish for Love ♥️ and Serenity🕊️ my family and friends' homes🏠, and that God showers us with many blessings 🙏" Gladys Penalver captioned her Instagram post in spanish
Having made the move to San Diego in 2024, Luis Arraez proved to be an important part of Mike Shildt's potent offense in the second half of the season. His performance earned the Friars the top spot in the NL wildcard standings and a ticket to the postseason in the process.
The train gathered more steam after making light work of the Atlanta Braves in the first playoff series, then going on to take a 2-1 lead against bitter rivals the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS. That was as good as it got, though, as the Dodgers then went on to win the next three games and eventually their eighth World Series title, sending Luis Arraez and co. crashing out.
For now, Arraez can afford to take his mind off baseball, focusing instead on spending time with his wife and daughters. The focus shifts back to baseball in the new year, as Arraez looks to pick up from where he left off in spring training. He underwent surgery for a niggling thumb injury that he carried for most of the second half of 2024.
