In Photos: Luis Arraez & wife Gladys are the perfect Batman & Catwoman while Padres star's kids round out the Bat Family on Halloween
San Diego Padres star Luis Arraez, the three-time batting champion, has a loving family comprised of Gladys Penalver, his wife, and three daughters - Emma, Esther, and Esthela. The Arraez family channeled in the 'Batman family' for Halloween.
Arraez and Penalver shared snaps of their Halloween via their Instagram stories on Thursday. The Padres leadoff hitter looked stunning in the Batman costume. Penalver donned the costume of Catwoman, Batman's love interest.
Funnily enough, Arraez's daughters Emma, Esther, and Esthela also donned Batman costume like their father. However, Arraez's costume was the one Van Kilmer used in the 'Batman Forever,' the 1995 film directed by Joel Schumacher. The girls' attire was reminiscent of Adam West from the 1966 Batman TV Series.
Several other big names in MLB celebrated Halloween with their family. Freddie Freeman's sons Max, Charlie, and Brandon donned the costumes of Marvel Cinematic Universe superheroes - Hulk, Iron Man, and Spider-Man.
Luis Arraez's Padres teammates Jackson Merrill, Michael King, and Fernando Tatis Jr. received Halloween tributes from young fans who became baseball cards. Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne looked stunning in Wonder Woman attire.
Padres ace Joe Musgrove and Arica Rose Christensen, his girlfriend, channeled in Jack and Jill for the special day while outfielder David Peralta, and his family comprised of his wife and three children donned the costumes of the character from Bluey, the popular kids animated series.
Similar to Luis Arraez and his wife, another baseballer and his wife became Batman and Catwoman on Halloween
Superhero costumes have become immensely popular on Halloween, evidenced by the frequency of people wearing them. Batman and Catwoman are among the most iconic romantic pairs in the Batman comics.
Luis Arraez and his wife Gladys Penalver became the pair on Halloween. So did Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and his wife Jennifer Alvarez. Gurriel's attire was similar to Arraez's, but Alvarez's Catwoman attire was from the 1992 film 'Batman Returns,' in which Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed the character.
However, their two kids were dressed as Marvel characters, Black Panther and Iron Man.
In other Halloween celebrations, Carlos Correa and his family of four donned the costumes of iconic horror movie antagonists.
Correa wore a Michael Myers costume while his wife Daniella Rodriguez looked stunningly spooky in the attire of Valak, the demonic nun from the Conjuring film franchise. Kylo and Kenzo, Correa's two sons donned the costumes of Freddy Kruger and Chucky.
