Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy was observed spending some quality time with his kids Sophie Kate and Wyatt James Muncy on Sunday after the LA Dodgers swept the Boston Red Sox in a three-game series at home at Dodger Stadium.
Max's wife, Kellie, took to her Instagram account on Monday to post an array of heartfelt moments shared between Muncy and their kids inside Dodger Stadium.
"Sunday Night Baseball post game field hangs with dada," Kellie captioned the post.
Max Muncy and Kellie had been dating each other since their college days when she was pursuing a bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising and Muncy was playing D1 baseball. The duo got engaged in November 2017, the same year Muncy had signed a minor league contract with the LA Dodgers.
A year after their engagement, the couple exchanged vows on November 18, 2018, at Piazza on the Green in McKinney, Texas, United States. They were blessed with their first child, daughter Sophie Kate, on July 23, 2021. They welcomed their second child, son James Wyatt, on April 24, 2023.
The happy family of four currently reside in Los Angeles where Max has been playing ball with the Dodgers franchise since 2018. He is a two-time All-Star with the Dodgers and also won the 2020 World Series with them. He sustained an oblique strain on May 17 and since then hasn't been able to play any part for the team.
Max Muncy's return to the Dodgers lineup has no confirmed timeline yet
The LA Dodgers are missing some A-list first-team ballplayers in the face of Max Muncy, Mookie Betts, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow with Jason Heyward making a comeback from injury in an emphatic fashion in the series finale against the Red Sox on Sunday.
Out of the injured lot, Muncy's condition is most dire as he has been shut out from swinging multiple times due to the right oblique injury. Talking about a timeline for his return to the lineup manager Dave Roberts said:
“Muncy [Thursday] took two rounds of short toss. So that’s progress, but when that time to come back is, I don’t think anyone still knows that.”
Max Muncy started a light-hitting program but an imminent return to the Dodgers lineup remains unresolved.
