Despite facing challenges in 2024, Michael Massey showed good performance. The year began with a back injury, which placed him on the injured list alongside several other players including the likes of Alec Marsh, Salvador Perez and Kyle Isbel.

After returning from his back injury on April 19, he was injured again a few weeks later as he suffered a low back ligament strain.

However, he made a strong comeback, posting solid statistics. Over 332 at-bats, he had a .259 batting average, 14 home runs and 45 RBIs. He also had a .294 OBP and a .743 OPS.

Massey stood out during postseason games when many other players struggled. He had a .304 batting average over six games along with a .360 OBP and a .795 OPS.

Although injuries limited him to just 100 games this season, his performance was promising whenever he was healthy and on the field. He mainly played second base and designated hitter for the Royals throughout the season.

Michael and his wife, Jane, are now excited for the future as they begin this new chapter together. With important memories captured in photographs from their most recent trip that represent their union, Mr. and Mrs. Massey are eager to look ahead to a bright future together.
