Bryce Harper assists New Jersey high school senior with his "promposal"
CBS Philadelphia shared a viral photo in which Bryce Harper helped out Haddonfield Memorial High School senior Jake Portella with his "promposal" to Giulia Leonetti.
Harper knocked on Leonetti's door, who was amazed to find the Phillies slugger at her doorstep.
"I'm going to cry," she said
"Jake wants to ask you to prom, so I thought I'd help him out," Harper said. "So will you go to prom with him?"
Leonetti said yes to prom to Portella and went on to hug Harper.
Prior to this event, Portella and his friends were walking the streets when they came up with the idea of this unique promposal.
"I said I go to high school in town and I got prom coming up and I would love it if he could help do my promposal with me because she's a really big Phillies fan," Portella said (per CBS News).
"Me and my friends were out in the street when he says, 'Do you want to do it right now?' And we just looked at each other, jaws drop, and we are like, there is no way he just agreed to this.
Portella further added that that when he knocked on Bryce Harper's door and let him know of his situation, the first baseman immediately agreed.
