Ronald Acuna Jr.'s younger brother Luisangel Acuna got his big break with the New York Mets this season and is currently part of their roster for the NLCS clash against the Los Angeles Dodgers. As for Ronald, the 2024 season did not go as anticipated for the Atlanta Braves superstar, as the 26-year-old suffered a knee injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season back in May.
Originally hailing from Venezuela, both brothers are now well-settled in the United States. Ronald Acuna Jr. is married to Maria Laborde, and the pair have two sons together. Luisangel has a daughter, Luciana Belinda, with his partner Dior Echeverria.
Prior to the Mets' second game of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Monday, Dior took to Instagram to post a series of adorable snaps featuring Luciana Belinda as she geared up to support her dad in the huge playoff clash.
Aside from wearing Luisangel's No. 2 Mets jersey, Luciana was also wearing black shorts and a pink bow. Meanwhile, the reflection of her mom Dior snapping her pictures could be seen in the mirror.
Dior Echeverria shows off customized Mets hat with Luisangel Acuna's name on it during NLCS opener
Luisangel Acuna has been a revelation for the Mets in his short time in the big leagues so far. After being handed his debut due to superstar Francisco Lindor's back injury back in September, the younger brother of last season's NL MVP has taken his chance with both hands and has quickly become an important part of Carlos Mendoza's squad.
The 22-year-old has been included in the Mets' NLCS roster, which shows that his skipper trusts the youngster despite being relatively inexperienced compared to most other players at this stage of the postseason.
In the opening game of the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, Luisangel Acuna's girlfriend, Dior Echeverria, posted a video to her Instagram story showcasing a customized Mets hat with Acuna's name on it, as she supported him from the stands.
The opening game did not go to plan for the Mets, as they lost 9-0. Luisangel Acuna did not have much involvement in proceedings, as he only had one plate appearance as a pinch hitter.
The visitors got back on track the following day, however, as New York won the second game of the NLCS 7-3 to tie the series before heading back to Citi Field for the next three.
