Trevor Bauer had a fantastic season with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico of the Mexican baseball league. The pitcher helped his team win the Serie del Rey for the first time since 2014 and was also named the LMB Pitcher of the Year.
For more seasoned MLB fans, Trevor Bauer's quality is no secret. The pitcher played nine seasons in the big leagues, representing the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Indians (now Guardians), Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers, winning the NL Cy Young award in his second season with the Reds.
Earlier in the year, Bauer had announced his plans to come over to the UK to offer live at-bats to any European baseball players that turned up. On Instagram on Tuesday, Bauer's agent, Rachel Luba, shared a series of videos from the event.
Looking at the videos, it appears Trevor Bauer's European jaunt went exactly as planned. Plenty of European players and fans turned up to watch the 2020 NL Cy Young Award winner in action.
Trevor Bauer posts attempts popular "Ichiro" throwing challenge
Along with his exploits in the Japanese and Mexican Baseball leagues following his exit from the MLB, Trevor Bauer has also built a following on his various social media handles, regularly posting engaging content.
On Monday, Bauer attempted a popular throwing challenge known by many simply as the "Ichiro" challenge, named after the legendary Ichiro Suzuki. The challenge in question came about after a video of Suzuki knocking four bats down with four consecutive throws.
Although Suzuki made it look easy in the video, the challenge is anything but in reality. That fact was underlined when Bauer posted his attempt at the popular challenge.
Being an established pitcher for many years, Bauer's job includes plenty of accurate throws, and he made decent progress, knocking two bats with consecutive throws at one point.
However, Bauer managed to knock down two bats with one throw in his best effort, invalidating the attempt. Ultimately, the challenge proved too hard even for the man who was at one point one of the big leagues' finest pitchers.
