In Photos: Yankees star Marcus Stroman's skin chronicles tale around experiences with 50+ unique tattoos

The newly signed Yankees pitcher Marcus Stroman boasts a huge collection of tattoos, each of which has a unique story and meaning. The tattoos range from self-belief quotes, a shrine to the members of his family, career accomplishments and a tribute to baseball legend Jackie Robinson.

Stroman was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2012 MLB draft and went on to make his major league debut for them in 2014. He then spent two years with the New York Mets after being traded in 2019, but his career took a downward turn there. He then joined the Chicago Cubs in 2022 and revived his career, which has now led to a two-year, $37 million contract with the Yankees for Stroman.

Stroman's body is undoubtedly a piece of art and contains more tattoos than most baseball players. On his chest area, he has multiple self-belief quotes, the most prominent of which reads, "Believe in yourself." On the right side are snippets relating to baseball while the left part contains a tattoo for every member of his family. His back contains a plethora of images, ranging from his family to Cillian Murphy's depiction of Thomas Shelby and Denzel Washington's role as Alonzo Harris in the movie Training Day.

His arms and legs are filled, too. The most notable pieces are a tribute to baseball legend Jackie Robinson on his right calf, a Rihanna tattoo on his thigh and the Toronto skyline on his abdomen.
