In Photos: Yordan Alvarez and wife Monica share Thanksgiving cheer amid Florence's scenic charm during family's Italian getaway
Yordan Alvarez and his family were in Italy during the Thanksgiving festivities. Despite being on vacation, the Astros superstar and his wife didn't forget about the celebration back home.
On Thursday, Alvarez's wife Monica shared a series of stories on her Instagram celebrating Thanksgiving Day. In the first story, Monica shared a boomerang of two clinking cups, likely capturing a cheerful moment between her and her husband. She captioned the post:
"Happy thanksgiving friends" with an emoji of a Turkey
In the second story, she shared the snap of David, the masterpiece of Florence's most gifted sculptor, Michelangelo at the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence.
In the third story, Monica shared a snap of Yordan Alvarez and their kids in front of the Baptistery of St. John. The 6 feet 5 inches tall Alvarez towered over the rest of the people in the snap.
In the fourth and final story, Monica shared a snap of herself, seated on a train with an asleep Jordan, her son, on her lap.
Incidentally, another MLB superstar is also in Italy with his family. Ronald Acuna Jr. and his wife Maria had also recently shared snaps from the country of love.
Yordan Alvarez's wife Monica recaps Venetian vacation
Yordan Alvarez and Monica didn't start their vacation in Florence, they began it in Venice. On Tuesday, the Astros superstar's wife recapped moments from their time in Venice with a video post on her Instagram.

Monica shared several snaps of herself with Alvarez and their kids on the video post. Their travels through the famed waterways in Venice also featured in it, in addition to the other noteworthy tourist destinations in the floating city.
Monica married Yordan Alvarez in 2021. The couple welcomed daughter, Mia, on November 6, 2018, and their son, Jordan, on July 2, 2021. Monica, who has nearly 20,000 followers on Instagram, routinely posts updates on their travels and photos from their adventures.
As for Alvarez, the 2022 AL MVP finalist will be looking to make a splash in the 2025 season after his Astros crashed out of the postseason with a 0-2 Wild Card Series loss to the Detroit Tigers.
