In Pictures: Luis Arraez's wife Gladys twins with Padres star in romantic Christmas photoshoot
San Diego Padres infielder Luis Arraez is currently spending some offseason time with his wife, Gladys. She shared several pictures of themselves on Instagram on Sunday. They wore similar white outfits as they got in the Christmas spirit posing for pictures before the holiday.
Fans of Arraez and his wife enjoyed the recent update as the post had more than 9,000 likes in the first 24 hours. Since MLB players are away from their teams during the offseason, it's the perfect opportunity for them to spend time with their families.
Luis Arraez was traded from the Miami Marlins to the San Diego Padres during the 2024 season, and he is under contract for the 2025 season. There has been some speculation that he will ultimately be traded before next season.
Luis Arraez drawing some criticism
Trying to predict MLB free agency or potential trades is not easy, but many believe that Luis Arraez is going to be dealt.
The three-time batting champion would fit in many lineups, but at least one MLB sportscaster doesn't believe that teams should make a move for the young star. Evan Roberts, of WFAN radio in New York, said a few weeks ago that he isn't a fan of Arraez's game.
"He's a one-trick pony," Roberts said. "He's a singles hitter. He hits for a very high average and does nothing else. He doesn't hit for pop, he doesn't run, he never walks."
Arraez played a big role with the San Diego Padres after coming over in early May, but he isn't someone who delivers power at the top of the lineup (with just four home runs last season after a career-high 10 in 2023). He still hit .314 (after hitting .354 in 2023 in Miami and .316 in 2022 with the Minnesota Twins), but he's not someone who would transform the New York Mets' lineup.
Luis Arraez still has some time to spend with his wife, Gladys, before having to worry about what team he will be playing for during the 2025 season.
