"It was hard to ignore" - White Sox skipper Sizemore enjoyed "Grady's Ladies" during 3x All-Star playing career with Cleveland Indians
MLB podcaster Chris Rose discussed baseball with former big leaguer and current Chicago White Sox manager Grady Sizemore. Grady played 11 years in the majors with the Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays.
Sizemore was a fan favorite for his on-field performances while playing with the Indians (now the Cleveland Guardians). The center fielder also had a female fan base, known as "Grady's Ladies."
On the latest episode of The Chris Rose Rotation, Sizemore recalled his time with the Indians. (17:00).
"It was all kind of funny, I didn't know what to make of it or where it came from. They showed up one day with shirts and signs, and they were down the left field line and up the center field," Sizemore said.
"For a guy that doesn't like a lot of attention it was hard to ignore, but it was all fun. The support I got in Cleveland was great, I loved playing there."
Grady Sizemore's White Sox reach 100 losses for the season
The difficult season for the Chicago White Sox continues to get worse, as Grady Sizemore's side has now accumulated 100 losses in the 2024 season. Their latest 9-4 loss came against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. Their win/loss record now stands at 31-100 for the season.
The White Sox scored two runs in the first inning. Like numerous times this season, the White Sox conceded multiple run innings, with the Tigers scoring three runs in the fifth and two each in the seventh and eighth innings. In the end, the Tigers won the game 9-4.
The White Sox will take on the Tigers for the four-game series finale on Monday. Next up, they'll host the Texas Rangers for a three-game series.
The White Sox fans are hoping for a rare win on their home turf as the team gets closer to potentially setting the record for the most losses in a single season. The current record of 120 losses is held by the 1962 New York Mets.
