"It had red eyes" - Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly's wife Ashley shares hilarious boba tea mishap, advises not to let it ruin your life
LA Dodgers relief pitcher Joe Kelly's wife Ashley recently didn't had a good experience with boba tea, as she shared on Monday on social media.
In her series of Instagram stories, Ashley shared the incident. She drank the whole boba tea only to find out that it had a fly in it.
"I got boba somewhere, and I was all the way at the bottom. I was driving, and I looked into the cup, which was empty except for some ice at the bottom. I saw something, and I thought, That is not a fly. That's not a dead fly right there," she said in her story.
"I pulled it up, looked inside, and it was a dead fly — a huge dead fly with red eyes — at the bottom of my cup. I drank the whole thing and then got to the bottom. Good thing it didn't get sucked up into my straw."
Joe Kelly's wife, Ashley, shares context to her food story
In her next story, Ashley said that she's not the kind of person who, on encountering small inconveniences, let them ruin her food experience.
"I'm not the type of person that, if I find a hair or something, it depends on what it is obviously, but if it's like a hair or a fly like that, that doesn't stop my journey with that food," she added.
She elaborated with an example:
"Like, I know there are some people that, if you get food poisoning for instance, you're probably not going to have that food for a while, if at all, ever again ... I think I was saying something like, don't let these dead flies in your boba drinks stop you."
According to Ashely, such little setbacks shouldn't stop one from enjoying life. Meanwhile, on the baseball front, her husband isn't having a good year on the mound.
Joe Kelly, who returned to the Dodgers on a one-year deal, has gone 1-1, posting a 4.85 ERA across 26.0 innings pitched. He has an important postseason ahead as he looks to win his third World Series.
