"It's called Shiny Teeth and Me" - Yankees' Jazz Chisholm Jr. reveals unique inspiration behind his custom grill
The Yankees' Jazz Chisholm Jr. has nestled well in the Bronx, the most successful MLB ballclub, which acquired him at the trade deadline on July 30. Besides showcasing his electrifying talents in both aspects of the game on the field, the 26-year-old Bahamian is also known for his attraction to bling.
Jazz Chisholm loves to wear flashy chains and rings. But the most eye-catching of them all is his custom-made teeth grill made out of white gold and heavily encrusted with many small diamonds, which gives them an immaculate glittery look.
While sitting alongside pressbox commentators at Yankee Stadium, Chisholm revealed the inspiration behind the custom shiny grill:
"I really got a grill because I like, like I said I am big into anime and cartoon, and there is this show called Fairly OddParents, and this kid has a teenage friend, and his name is Chip Skylark, and his favorite song he sings that is my favorite song from the show. It's called shiny teeth and me. So, I got my shiny teeth."
At this point, the broadcasters hilariously ask Jazz if he could sing that song, and after a minor hesitation, Chisholm begins to sing the same verse from the song. Take a look at the fun-filled grilling session with Jazz Chisholm Jr. for his custom grills here:
Jazz had signed as an international free agent with the Diamondbacks in July 2015 for $200,000.
After spending three seasons in the minor leagues, he was traded to the Miami Marlins in exchange for Zac Gallen. It was in Florida with the Marlins when he made his big league debut in 2020.
After almost four years with Miami, he was traded to the New York Yankees in exchange for three minor league prospects: Jared Serna, Agustin Ramirez and Abrahan Ramirez.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been enjoying time with the Yankees this season
Jazz Chisholm Jr. has flourished in the Yankees pinstripes since moving to the Bronx in July.
He was put on a 10-day IL on Aug.12 due to a sprained elbow sustained in the clash against the White Sox. He's now making strides forward, making a speedy return from the ballclub.
Chisholm is batting with an average of .257, with 20 home runs, 61 RBIs, and .773 OPS this campaign. Jazz has proved to be an amazing mid-season addition to an already well-rounded and well-performing Yankees unit.
