“It's a good escape man” - Yankees captain Aaron Judge talks about gaming mid-air with teammates while traveling between games
New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge was on the "The Case De Club" podcast's fourth episode where he revealed an interesting detail about the team bonding activities used by the players.
Judge said the Yankees players used their time in the air to play games and interact with each other. Judge went on to mention the few games that were his personal favorite.
"Aaron [Judge] pulls out this 30 inch monitor, his PlayStation, and by the time we get to 30,000 feet, there's 10 guys around this monitor watching people play FIFA and a FIFA tournament the entire way out for like four plus hours," Corey Kluber said (53:41 onwards).
"I'm not a gamer to where I'm like a professional, but I love spending a lot of time. It's a good escape, man, especially FIFA like that's and I've never I played NBA 2K. It won't be the show," Judge added to the conversation.
He also recalled a time when they were traveling to the Orioles and their flight got delayed.
"The Call of Duty is 49. I played all that, but FIFA. I never ever played that played a little bit of soccer growing up and not that much. We didn't know. I was like, I'll stick to these sports. And I think it was really we took as we were playing the Orioles and our flights was like delayed, delayed, delayed.”
Aaron Judge gave his two cents on his personal coach's scathing remarks
Aaron Judge's personal hitting coach Richard Schenck took a dig at the Yankees organization when he made a remark on an X post by The Yes Network which showed Judge's stats in victories and losses.
“They’ve lost 13 out of 18 while he’s hitting like an MVP[.] The Yankees' offensive player development is terrible," Schenk tweeted.
The tweet has since gone viral and the Yanks captain was asked about it in a press conference.
“It doesn’t involve me, to be honest,” Judge said, per MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch. “It’s somebody else making a comment. I’m not going to comment for somebody else. … I’ve got no control over what another person does. It’s out of my control. I’ve got nothing for you.”
Aaron Judge has been working with Schenk for nearly a decade now. The Yankees captain stayed away from getting too much into his tweet.
