Corey Seager placed on 10 day injured list due to right hip discomfort
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager was placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday due to right hip discomfort. Although there is currently no set date for his return, Seager does not want this injury to end his season.
"You want to be out there with your guys. We’re finally starting to play some good baseball and this isn’t the time you want to miss. It’s definitely frustrating. … You want to get back out there. We’ll see, though. I hope [I’ll play again this season]." Corey Seager said.
"You can’t miss two offseasons in a row,” he added. “You've got to be healthy and get back into working out and getting into shape. I didn’t really have a build-up last year coming into the season, so it’s something that I need to have coming into the next [season].”
Corey Seager underwent surgery in January to repair his sports hernia. He only played the last three games in the Spring Training and had a slow start to the season hitting just two home runs and driving in eight runs in his first 29 games.
The Texas Rangers (66-73), with a .475 winning percentage, are ranked third in the AL West. After splitting the first two games of their three-game series against the New York Yankees, they are leading the Yankees 8-2 in the series finale at the time of writing.
