Jackson Chourio's 1/1 rookie debut patch card fetches whopping $105,000; Paul Skenes and Jackson Merrill's cards keep collectors buzzing

Three NL rookies set the MLB stage on fire this past season. They were NL Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes, runner-up Jackson Merrill and finalist from Milwaukee Brewers, Jackson Chourio, whose 1/1 Rookie Debut Patch card sold for a staggering $105,000, setting a public sale record for the 2024 Topps Chrome Update Debut Patch series.

The card is certified with an "Auto 10" grading by PSA/DNA and celebrates Chourio's impressive debut, which saw him hit .275 with 21 home runs, 22 stolen bases and 79 RBIs in 148 games for the Brewers. He also became the youngest MLB rookie (20 years, 185 days) to have a 20-20 season. Mike Trout and Vade Pinson also achieved the feat when they were 20.

The Topps Chrome Update series has become a sensation in the collectibles market, especially rare 1/1 cards. Similar cards of other players including Paul Skenes, Jackson Merrill, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto—are still out there.

There's a good chance Chourio’s record-breaking sale will be surpassed once the card comes out on the open market.

Paul Skenes' 1/1 rookie debut patch card has lucrative offers lined up already

While Jackson Chourio's rookie card earned a staggering six-figure sale, Paul Skenes' 1/1 rookie debut patch card has some offers lined up already.

Chasing the card are his team, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and his girlfriend, Olivia Dunne.

  • A softball game for thirty (30) at PNC Park + Coaching from Pirates Alumni

Dunne sweetened the deal, saying the person who finds the card can sit beside her in a suite for a Pirates game at PNC Park.

The card of the first overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft is in the pack of 2024 Topps Chrome Update, which dropped on Nov. 13.
