Jeremy Pena reflects on what Derek Jeter told him after the Astros won the World Series
Jeremy Pena was recently spotted on a golf course swinging his driver alongside Yankee legend Derek Jeter. Both were observed laughing together during the friendly game and talking animatedly as they rode on the cart or walked to the next hole.
Pena even shared a picture on his Instagram account with Jeter as the Astros' budding star gears up to defend the World Series title.

Jeremy Pena went on to say that Jeter congratulated him for his achievements with the Astros in the 2022 season and for winning his first ever World Series title at such an early age. He adored the genial conversation with the Yankee veteran and was all praise for him.
When asked about the Astros' winning culture next, he replied:
"Ever since I got drafted, the culture was just to win even in the mindor league levels and these guys have done a great job of building that culture"
Pena, who started at shortstop for the Astros on Opening Day of the 2022 season for the first time since Correa in 2015, continued his predecessor's work as a crucial component of a squad that was competing in its fourth World Series in six years.

In recognition of his efforts against the New York Yankees, Jeremy Pena was chosen as the MVP of the American League Championship Series and the American League Gold Glove winner at shortstop.
He became the first rookie in Astros history to win a gold glove and the first rookie in MLB history to win a gold glove while playing at the shortstop position.
