Joe Kelly's wife Ashley captures Dodgers pitcher's fun museum date with son Knox at NYC ahead of NLCS Game 3 vs. Mets
Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Joe Kelly is known for his passion and temperament on the field. Off the field, the pitcher is dedicated to his family. Kelly frequently spends time with his children, namely, Knox, Kai, Crue, and Blake.
In a series of snippets on Instagram, Kelly's wife Ashley shared videos of Joe and their eldest son Knox making a trip to the American Museum of Natural History before Game 3 of the NLCS in Citi Field.
The excursion by Joe Kelly and his family at the museum located in Manhattan included a photo of the famous Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton display in the building. The museum's popularity further grew when it was featured in the Night at the Museum movie franchise.
Joe Kelly out until World Series
September 27, 2024, was the last time Joe Kelly pitched for the Dodgers. He has been out ever since due to a right shoulder inflammation that has been bothering him all year. As per recent reports, Kelly would continue spending time on the shelf and would be unavailable until at least the World Series if the Dodgers reach that stage.
Kelly re-signed for a second stint with the Dodgers ahead of the 2023 season. A part of the 2020-winning World Series team, he spent 2022 with the Chicago White Sox while away from Los Angeles.
The 36-year-old landed back in Los Angeles in a package deal that included Lance Lynn with Trayce Thompson, Jordan Leasure and Nick Nastrini going to the White Sox. After the remainder of his contract expired at the end of 2023, the Dodgers renewed Kelly for a one-year, $8 million deal.
In 35 regular season appearances this year, the veteran reliever holds a 1-1 record in 32 innings on the mound. He also owns 35 strikeouts and a 4.78 ERA.
One notable event in Kelly's season is the arrival of Shohei Ohtani in the Dodgers clubhouse. Originally, Joe Kelly was sporting the #17 jersey within the main squad. However, he graciously gave up the jersey number for the baseball superstar, switching to #99.
