Juan Soto reveals Mark Wahlberg action drama as his favorite movie, names "Prison Break" and "Breaking Bad" as top series

All-Star slugger Juan Soto's stardom has been on the rise ever since his World Series-winning campaign with the Washington Nationals in 2019. A record-breaking contract with the New York Mets in the offseason has only elevated his status as an MLB superstar.

The Mets were one of the favorites for Soto in his free agency but faced competition from cross-town rivals New York Mets after the Dominican star's career-best season with the Bronx Bombers in 2024.

However, Steve Cohen outmaneuvered their rivals to sign Soto for an MLB record $765 million contract over 15 years. Soto was unveiled as a Met last Thursday. In a video "Get to know Juan Soto" by the Mets' YouTube channel, Soto shared some unknown things about him while donning a Mets jersey.

When asked about his favorite movie, Soto named a Mark Wahlberg starrer action movie (2:15):

"I don't know. I'm a war movie guy so it calls Lone Survivor."

Talking about his favorite series, he said:

"Prison Break and Breaking Bad."

The four-time All-Star has found himself in the thick of action throughout his MLB career and it's not a surprise Juan Soto likes two of the most critically acclaimed crime drama series filled with action.

Juan Soto aspires for multiple World Series rings with Mets

Juan Soto has already tasted success in his still-young MLB career by winning the World Series with the Nationals. The All-Star outfielder came close to adding another ring last season but fell short as the Yankees lost to the Dodgers in the Fall Classic.

The former San Diego Padres star revealed his aspirations after signing for the Mets in the offseason.

"Trying to win a World Series here – not only one time, but a couple more times – is going to be special," Soto said.

Soto is hungry for success with the Yankees' cross-town rivals and is eager to build a dynasty.

"The Mets are a great organization, and what they have done in the past couple of years – showing all the ability to keep winning, to keep growing a team, to try to grow a dynasty – is one of the most important things,” Soto said.

Juan Soto formed a formidable partnership with Yankees captain and two-time MVP Aaron Judge in 2024. It will be interesting to see if he can replicate the same with the Mets' MVP finalist Francisco Lindor.
