"Keep making soap queen" - Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne fires back at critic targeting her after ESPYs red-carpet appearance
Paul Skenes' girlfriend, Olivia Dunne, who attended the star-studded ESPY Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday night, responded to a fan who said that they were "sick" of her.
Dunne had worn a shimmering golden dress—something that looked straight out of a queen's wardrobe from the show Game of Thrones. Her ensemble was complete, with off-white dyed hair and golden leaf-shaped clips in them.
Many fans showered praise and love for Livvy Dunne's amazing look on the red carpet. But one went the other route, commenting on Instagram:
"Ugh so sick of her."
Olivia Dunne fired back with a cryptic response:
"@la_soapescape Keep making soap queen."
The Instagram user replied:
"@livvydunne I really don't make soap. Keep getting 9.75s, and keep contributing to the team score."
Take a look at the back-and-forth between the IG user and Livvy Dunne:
This is not the first time Olivia Dunne has encountered a hateful and aggressive commentor on social media.
The highest-earning collegiate athlete, a renowned figure across social media, has received nasty comments before. Nevertheless, the Tigers ace gymnast continues to grow in stature on and off the field. She helped LSU win its maiden NCAA title in April, days after which she signed a massive deal with Passes.com to further her case as the highest-earning NCAA athlete in America.
Like Livvy, her boyfriend and searing strike thrower for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Paul Skenes, has also grown his stature in the MLB since making his debut in May. He helped the LSU Tigers claim their seventh College World Series last year, soon after which the Pirates selected him as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft.
His immaculate starts in the current campaign haven't gone unnoticed, as the 22-year-old became the first player to receive an All-Star nod in their maiden major-league season. Skenes also impressed in his final start before the All-Star break.
Olivia Dunne applauds Paul Skenes' impressive 11-strikeout outing against the Brewers
Paul Skenes registered his sixth win of the campaign on Thursday night. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out 11 batters against the Milwaukee Brewers in the series finale.
Olivia Dunne celebrated Skenes outing with an Instagram story.
"Slay."
It will be interesting to see whether NL manager Torey Lovullo decides on starting Paul Skenes for the Midsummer Cassic game on Tuesday at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
