Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Miami Marlins Game Player Stats and Box Scores for September 18
T
he Los Angeles Dodgers took on the Miami Marlins from LoanDepot Park in Game 2 on Wednesday with Landon Knack on the mound. Dave Roberts and his team are set for the postseason, but a few pitching changes are expected, with Tyler Glasnow placed in the IL.
Knack started well, and the offense took an early lead. Shohei Ohtani recorded a base hit in the first inning and stole in 49th base. The All-Star is just one step away from his historic 50/50 season (50 home runs and 50 stolen bases). Will Smith went deep from the plate with a solo home run and put his team on the board first.
Ryan Weathers took a shaky start against the Boys in Blue. Weathers had issues with control after surrendering three home runs. The Marlins offense struggled to make ends meet as they trailed their opponent with a 6-0 score.
Knack retired after five scoreless innings, recording seven strikeouts, two hits, and two walks. Joe Kelly took over and recorded another scoreless inning. The Marlins brought Xzavion Curry as Weathers retired to the dugout after a struggling start.
The Marlins' offense opened up late in the game as they racked up three runs in the seventh inning. Zach Logue surrendered three earned runs and three hits, while the Dodgers were forced to bring in Blake Treinen.
Chris Taylor recorded a hit and drove in two more runs during a bases-loaded situation. The Marins cut the score in half with a sac fly at the bottom of the ninth inning. However, it was not enough to win.
