Hernandez smashed a great shot against Darvish, recording his 14th postseason home run. Teoscar Hernandez went deep to left field to give his team a 2-0 lead.
Dave Roberts' bullpen had a strong performance as they prevented the Padres from scoring. The bullpen did a fantastic job in continuing Yamamoto's success. The Padres gathered a couple of hits but it was not enough as their opponent was pretty dominant.
Darvish surrendered two runs, but it was not a bad outing. The issue with the Padres was their offense. None of the top hitters from San Diego was able to score, including Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr.
As for Ohtani and his team, they will be facing the New York Mets in the NLCS round at Dodgers Stadium. Both teams are yet to announce their starting pitchers for Game 1, which will take place on Sunday at 8:15 PM EDT.
