"Lose every game for rest of time"- MLB fans react as the White Sox record the longest losing streak in MLB since 2021

The Chicago White Sox continue to make history albeit for all the wrong seasons. The Chicago outfit lost 6-2 against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday, their 19th defeat in a row this season.

The White Sox's losing streak is the longest in the MLB since the Baltimore Orioles in 2021, who also lost 19 straight games in one of the most disastrous seasons in franchise history. The longest losing skid of all time belongs to the 1961 Philadelphia Phillies, who suffered 23 straight defeats.

MLB fans took note of the White Sox's remarkable losing streak that has continued after the All-Star break.

"Just lose every game for the rest of time and get an unbreakable record," a fan mocked after the latest loss.
"Well the White Sox don’t disappoint!" mocked another fan.
"LETS GO BABY LETS GET THE RECORD," wrote a fan.

Meanwhile, some fans looked at the positive side of things as the 2021 Orioles underwent a rebuilding phase and are now a force to reckon with in the American League.

"Don’t worry white Sox fans, us ending that streak was an iconic moment in the rebuild," chimed an Orioles fan.
"So the Sox are going to be contenders in a couple of years?" enquired a fan.
"They’re gonna be real good in three years," quipped another fan.

Chicago White Sox on pace for historic low

Meanwhile, the White Sox are close to losing 20 straight games. The last team to do so was the Orioles in 1988, who lost 21 consecutive games to start the season.

The White Sox added another embarrassing feat to their cap, becoming the fastest team to accumulate 85 losses in a season since the Boston Red Sox in 1932.

Although the White Sox are in the middle of one of the worst losing streaks in baseball history, players are trying to keep their chin up by doing their diligent work day in and day out.

“It can’t go on forever,” White Sox starter Garrett Crochet said per ABC News. “Showing up to the field every day, we’re expecting to break the streak."

The White Sox have managed more than three runs in only one of their 15 games since the All-Star break and are currently at pace to shatter the record for most losses in an MLB season.

“It's a lot of pressure,” White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said. “You can't afford to make mistakes.”

Letting go of several players at the trade deadline hasn't helped Grifol's case either as the team looks devoid of ideas at the moment.
