"Made it alive" - Carlos Rodon's wife Ashley documents wild 'family trip' with Gerrit Cole's better-half Amy & kids
New York Yankees pitching duo Carlos Rodon and Gerrit Cole took their families on a trip on Monday after which their wives, Ashley and Amy, respectively, shared videos of their kids getting to know each other. Rodon and his wife have a daughter and two sons together, while Cole and his wife have a son and a daughter. After their trip, Ashley Rodon shared several clips of their kids through her Instagram stories. One of them had a caption that read:
"Family trip 2024. Made it alive."
Carlos Rodon started his major league career with the Chicago White Sox in 2015 after being drafted by them the previous year. He went on to spend seven years in Chicago before going to play for the San Francisco Giants in 2022. Ahead of the 2023 season, Rodon signed a six-year contract with the Bronx Bombers. The left-handed ace married his wife Ashley in 2018 and the couple have three children together: Willow, Bo and Silo.
Gerrit Cole was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2011 MLB draft and went on to make his major league debut with them in 2013. He has since established himself as one of the best pitchers in the major leagues, which earned him a then record-breaking nine-year, $324 million contract with the Yankees in 2019. The reigning AL Cy Young winner married to wife Amy in 2016, and they have two children together: Caden and Everett.
Both their wives shared some heartwarming clips of their recent family trip which shows Caden making friends with Willow, Bo and Silo, with Carlos Rodon and Gerrit Cole seen in the background. It is not clear as to where exactly they went for their trip together.
Yankees ace Carlos Rodon commends Aaron Judge after another impressive outing in series opener vs Rockies
The Yankees started their three-game series against the Colorado Rockies with a commanding 3-0 win thanks to home runs from captain Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.
Starting pitcher on the night, Carlos Rodon also put in an impressive shift after shutting out the Rockies' offense over six innings and recording five strikeouts in the process. Speaking to reporters after the game, he had high praise for his captain:
"As we know, he's probably the best hitter in this game. He's a great player but he's a better teammate and better man, for sure," Rodon said.
The Yankees went on to win the series 2-1 in convincing manner on Sunday and retain their place at the top of the AL East standings. They are now in the midst of a three-game series against the Washington Nationals, which they began with a 5-2 win on Monday.
