Marcell Ozuna's wife Genesis makes feelings known about Braves star's son Dalnny on his birthday
Marcell Ozuna's wife Genesis loves writing long and heartwarming posts for her family as a way to make her feelings known. She wrote one for the Atlanta Braves slugger on his 34th birthday and did once again for her son whom she referred to as the "beautiful prince of mom."
Ozuna and Genesis reportedly started dating while he was in the Dominican Republic as a teenager. The couple tied the knot in 2016 and share three children. Their first son, Dalnny, was born in 2017.
On Wednesday, Genesis penned a heartwarming post, celebrating Dalnny's seventh birthday. She shared a reel, capturing highlights of Dalnny's lifestyle and birthday celebrations.
"Today is the birthday of one of the loves of my life, my beautiful prince of mom," Genesis wrote in the caption (translated to English). "My beautiful Dalnny, you came to our lives to teach us what a full love is, empathetic, caring, kind loving child all the best that can exist in a person.
"I ask God to keep you always like this and fill you with life and health to keep blessing and giving love to everyone you touch I love you my king of mom."
Marcell Ozuna and Genesis share a controversial past involving domestic violence dispute
While it's all happy within family now, it wasn't always the case.
On May 29, 2021, the authorities responded a call for a domestic disturbance at his Atlanta-area home. After seeing Marcell Ozuna assaulting his wife, the cops arrested him and charged him for aggravated assault by strangulation, but the charges were dropped the next month.
MLB conducted its own investigation, which found Ozuna being suspended for 20 regular-season games for violating the Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.
The incident also led Marcell Ozuna to join a pretrial diversion program and an intervention program along with an anger management course.
“I’m sorry, I know I made a mistake, but I’m a better person now," Ozuna tells USA TODAY Sports in July. “We’ve all made mistakes. I did too. But, please, don’t judge me for my mistake. I’m a human being. I’m not perfect. But nobody is, you know. Only God."
The family seems to have put the ordeal behind them as they cherish each other's company.
