“Maybe focus on plays, not boasts” - MLB fans react after Jazz Chisholm Jr. says Royals got lucky with Game 2 ALDS victory

Jazz Chisholm Jr. and the New York Yankees are coming off a 4-2 defeat in the Bronx as the Kansas City Royals prevailed in Game 2 of the ALDS. It was a strong comeback from the Royals as both clubs head to Kauffman Stadium next for Game 3.

The Yanks were up 1-0, but Rodon's outing was not up to the mark as the Royals smashed four runs to secure the win. Jazz Chisholm Jr. went deep from the plate at the bottom of the ninth inning to cut the lead in half.

While the Royals fought hard to win the game, Chisholm believes that the team had got lucky since the Yankees had several missed opportunities.

"Still feels the same that we're going to win it... We still don't feel like any other team is better than us. We had a lot of missed opportunities tonight, so they just got lucky," Chisholm said in a postgame interview via Fox Sports MLB.

While some fans applauded him for his confidence, others called out the slugger for boasting before they could win.

Here's a look at some reactions from fans on X/Twitter:

"Luck? Sounds like copium. Maybe focus on plays, not boasts, Jazz," wrote one fan.
"Says the guy whose team only has a win because of a missed replay review," another fan responded.

"This is going tripple platinum when we lose the series," one fan added.
"Not very smooth, Jazz," wrote one fan.
"Crazy how unlikeable a fun player becomes when they join the Yankees," and fan chimed in.
