Meet Kody Clemens’ baseball family: 7x time Cy Young Award & WS champ father and two former MiLB brothers
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Kody Clemens comes from baseball heritage. His father and two brothers played baseball professionally. Kody has three brothers: Koby, Kory and Kacy.
Kody is the son of Roger Clemens, who played 24 seasons in the majors, garnering 11 All-Star selections and was a seven-time recipient of the Cy Young award. During his time with the New York Yankees, he won World Series titles in 1999 and 2000 and the AL MVP crown in 1986.
Clemens (4672) stands third in the MLB's all-time strikeout list, which is why he named all his sons with the letter "K".
Roger Clemens' eldest son and Kody Clemens' elder brother, Koby Clemens, also played professional baseball. He was drafted in the eighth round by the Houston Astros in 2005.
However, he never made it to majors, playing most of the time in the minors or other professional leagues. He retired in 2014 and in Feb. 2015, served as a minor-league spring training instructor for the Astros farm system
Another of Rogers' son, Kacy, was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 35th round of the 2013 MLB Draft. However, he continued playing college baseball for Texas before being drafted again in 2017 by the Toronto Blue Jays.
However, like Koby, even Kacy couldn't make it to the MLB and only reached AA as his highest level.
Kody Clemens helps Phillies get past Blue Jays
Kody Clemens is the only son of Roger Clemens who made it to the majors; he's a part of the Philadelphia Phillies.
In Wednesday's 4-2 win against the Toronto Blue Jays, Kody struck a two-run home run against Bowden Francis in the top of second innings. JT Realmuto and Kyle Schwarber also went deep to help the Phillies register their 83rd win of the season.
Kody Clemens has played three seasons in the majors, one with the Detroit Tigers and the other two with the Philadelphia Phillies. Across 344 plate appearances, he has slashed .202/.247/.373.
