"Mike Trout would absolutely crush the second pitch" - Fan roasts Trevor Bauer's latest at-bat against King of Juco Eric Sim

Former major league pitcher Trevor Bauer has built up a large following on social media over the years, accumulating over 765,000 followers on Instagram and over 900,000 on YouTube. On Tuesday, he uploaded the latest installment in his ongoing 'baseball battle' with Eric Sim, also known as the "King of Juco," on Instagram.

With Sim walking up to bat against the former Cy Young winner, Bauer quickly got ahead in the count, as two pitches on the edges of the strike zone were called strikes by the automated umpire, much to Sim's disbelief.

Although Sim managed to hold off and take a ball to avoid a three-pitch strikeout, Bauer's quality on the mound ultimately shone through as he got his nemesis to swing and miss on the next pitch.

After striking out, Eric Sim argued his case, saying that all three pitches were pitched in an area "no hitter can hit." However, one fan seemed to disagree, commenting that one of the pitches would likely be outside the ballpark if it was Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout holding the bat.

"@miketrout would absolutely crush that 2nd pitch," the fan commented.

Eric Sim, aka "King of Juco," records rare hit against Trevor Bauer

It's well known that it is one of, if not the most challenging skills in sports to simply make contact with a pitch thrown by a major league-level pitcher. However, in a video uploaded to Trevor Bauer's Instagram account on Tuesday that is exactly what Eric Sim, also known as the "King of Juco," managed when facing the former Los Angeles Dodger.

After taking a few pitches outside the strike zone and even taking a nasty hit as he fouled a ball off his hip, Eric Sim worked a 3-2 count. Then, Sim made contact with a pitch that looped up in the air landing perfectly in no man's land, as per the HitTrax software in use. As it turns out, it worked in Sim's favor that he did not make more of a solid contact with the ball, as it would likely been an easy out in the field.

Although it's still not clear what Trevor Bauer and Eric Sim continue to battle each other for, fans will certainly not be complaining, as they get to enjoy the hilarious exchanges between the two on a regular basis.
