Mike Trout's wife Jessica re-shares post comparing newborns to fathers, tags Angels star
High school lovebirds Mike Trout and Jessica are proud parents to two sons, Beckham and newborn Jordy Michael. They welcomed their second son on June 30, and the baby weighed 8 lb. 2 oz. at birth.
On Monday, Jessica shared a reel that talked about how women are often told that their baby looks like their husband. It also mentioned that it shouldn't make them worry, given that's the face they fell in love with. The reel was first shared by user @facelessly_tash, a page about newborns and motherhood, which Jessica reposted on her story.
While the Trout couple enjoyed their time with the newborn, devastating news hit the LA Angels fans when they learned that while rehabbing, Trout had re-torn his meniscus in his surgically repaired left knee and would have to undergo another surgery to repair it, ruling him out for the season.
Mike Trout wants to raise his kids like his father raised him
Mike Trout's father, Jeff Trout, played four years of minor league baseball after being selected by the Minnesota Twins in 1983. He never reached the majors but ensured his son did. Not only did Mike fulfill his dreams of playing in the majors but he went a step ahead and became one of the best hitters the league has seen in the past decade.
In an interview with MLB Network in April, Trout explained how his father played a huge part in developing him as a player.
"He just let me be me," Trout said. "He didn't really push me to try to hit like him. He kind of just let me go, let me figure it out."
And now that Trout himself is the father of two sons, especially Beckham, who is at the age of making some swings, the three-time MVP wants to let his son figure things out on his own like his father did.
"I look back and now that I'm pitching to my son, it's the same thing: I've kind of just let him figure it out on his own. I think in the long run it'll help him, because there will be situations where I'm not there to help him with that swing," Trout added.
It remains to be seen if one of Mike Trout's kids makes it to the majors and takes the legacy forward.
