Nick Castellanos made history in 2023 postseason
Philadelphia Phillies star Nick Castellanos was outstanding in the season, and in Game 1 of the NLCS against the Arizona Diamondbacks, he brought his hot bat with him. The 31-year-old added another home run to his total during the second inning after hitting two in each of his previous two outings.
Castellanos had only ever hit one playoff home run before this postseason.
The first man to smash two home runs in consecutive postseason games in big league history was Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos, who smacked two off Atlanta starter Spencer Strider.
After a poor pandemic-shortened 2020 season with the Cincinnati Reds, Castellanos recovered to hit .309 with 34 home runs and 100 RBIs for Cincinnati in 2021, winning the Silver Slugger award.
Philadelphia hosts Arizona in Game 7 of the NLCS on Monday night.
