MLB fans hilariously mock controversial baseball star Josh Reddick after he announced his retirement

Josh Reddick announced his retirement via Instagram on Sunday, after 13 years in the MLB, sending shockwaves around the baseball fraternity.

In an emotional Instagram post, he thanked his fans, past teams, coaches, and his family. The post ended with a heart-tingling few lines that read:

"So long baseball. You were everything and so much more than this guy ever could have imagined. Time to pass the torch onto my boys who know nothing other than the baseball life."

Fans thronged Twitter to say goodbye to the former 2017 World Series winner with the Houston Astros. While that was probably the most significant moment in his career, Reddick's received a lot of heat and publicity about it thanks to the sign-stealing scandal.

Reddick had a great career, but fans were quick to point out his involvement in the incident. Fans also mercilessly mocked Reddick's talent and really put him to the sword.

Josh Reddick won the Golden Glove in 2012

Drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 17th round of the 2006 MLB draft, Josh Reddick made his MLB on July 31, 2009.

He's also gone on to play for the Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

A livewire on the field, Reddick won an American League Gold Glove Award in 2012. The highlight of his career, however, was the World Series Title he won with the Houston Astros in 2017.

Now retired, Reddick will have all the time to completely focus on the little league field he is building for children with special needs, and everybody wishes him the best for that venture.
