MLB fans rip into Freddie Freeman for choosing Mookie Betts at No. 3 in MLB top 100 list
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman reserved high praise for his teammate Mookie Betts, rating him very highly on the MLB Top 100 list during a segment with MLB Network.
"I'm going, number three!" Freddie Freeman said.
"Freddie Freeman says Mookie Betts is the third best player in baseball behind Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge" - Talkin' Baseball, Twitter
Freeman played Betts alongside Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout.
Betts, who was present on the show, didn't say much on air but was captured blowing a flying kiss after Freeman's admission.
Fans on Twitter were left aghast at Freeman's selection and let their feelings be known. Clearly upset with the selection, one possible Mike Trout fan sarcastically questioned the former World Series champ, possibly forgetting that Freeman did very clearly mention that the names he said were in no particular order.
Well, sometimes opinions just differ and this fan clearly is not on the same level as Freeman, but to say that he isn't a ball knower might be a tad bit harsh.
Betts finished last year batting .269 with a career-high 35 home runs and 82 RBIs.
Mookie Betts is a 6-time All-Star
Betts was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2011, and made his MLB debut in the 2014 season. He currently plies his trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He became the first and only player in MLB history to win the Most Valuable Player, Silver Slugger, Gold Glove, a batting title, and World Series in the same season.
