MLB YouTuber predicts nightmare start to Carlos Rodon's Yankees career after pitcher placed on injury list

Carlos Rodon will start off the regular season on the injury list, the New York Yankees management confirmed. However, as per the Talkin' Yanks podcast, the major question remains whether Rodon will have to go through a Tommy John surgery that will keep him out for quite some time.

Carlos Rodon was signed by the New York Yankees in the offseason on a six-year, $162 million contract. Having previously played for the Chicago White Sox and the San Francisco Giants, Rodon has proven to be very effective with strikeouts. He is a two-time All-Star and also had a perfect no-hitter game on April 14, 2021.

Yankees fans are genuinely upset that they won't be able to witness the debut of their new star pitcher, whose signing was seen as one of the key ones for the franchise in the offseason. On the Talkin' Yanks podcast, Jake Storiale discussed the topic. He said:

"The move that made us pretty hyped and made the offseason a general success is they got Rodon who has been one of the best pitchers in baseball over the past two years. [He has] forearm strain which for pitchers can be a very scary injury. The next updates on Rodon are going to be massive. He will either be back in April or need Tommy John. No in between."

Carlos Rodon's injury has dented the New York Yankees pitching staff further after last season's deadline acquisition, Frankie Montas, also suffered a serious injury. He is expected to be out for the entire season due to shoulder inflammation.

The Yankees have also been plagued by the injuries to relievers Lou Trivino and Tommy Kahnlem, who will also start on the injury list. This is sure to test the Yankees' pitching staff's depth as the season unfolds.
