"MVP is back" "Welcome to the playoffs" - Yankees fans go wild as Aaron Judge ends postseason slump with two-run homer

New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge broke his postseason slump after a two-run home run against the Cleveland Guardians in Game 2 of the ALCS on Tuesday.

The former AL MVP's struggles in October are no secret to anyone, and the All-Star slugger silenced his critics with his first home run of the playoffs after six games.

Judge's two-run shot over the center field fence extended the Bronx Bombers lead to 6-2 in the seventh inning. Yankees fans went wild after the AL MVP contender's first home run of this year's postseason.

"Welcome to the postseason," wrote one fan.

"MVP is back," wrote another fan.
"It’s over for everyone else now," warned one fan.

Several fans hoped this would kickstart a hot streak for the Yankees captain.

"Hopefully he can keep up the momentum," one fan said.
"I hope this is the beginning," wrote another fan.
"That’s the Captain we know! Hope that gets him going," one fan added.

Guardians puzzle fans by walking Juan Soto to load bases for Aaron Judge

The Cleveland Guardians raised a few eyebrows after they walked Juan Soto to load the bases for Aaron Judge. Although one of the most fearsome hitters going around, the Guardians' decision to walk Soto and bring Judge to plate stems from the Yankees captain's struggles in the postseason.

This was the second time Soto was walked to bring Judge to the plate this year. The Yankees captain reflected on the Guardians' decision after the win, praising his teammate.

He said:

"It happened earlier in the year so not really surprised. He is swinging the bat good recently and I'd walk him too at this point."

Courtesy of this win, the Yankees are just two wins away from making the World Series for the first time since 2009. The Bronx Bombers will travel to Progressive Field for Game 3 of the championship series on Thursday.
