"My little break from reality" - Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne's furry companion Roux takes center stage in new brand campaign
Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne and her pup Roux were featured in a commercial by Purina ProPlan. The pair have joined their #FueledBy campaign, which is a series about owners and dogs.
In the video, Dunne talks about the importance of having Roux in her life and how it helps her break from reality every now and then.
She took to Instagram to place a joint post in collaboration with ProPlan, which provides advanced nutrition for pets, especially cats and dogs. The two-minute full video can be watched on the brand's website.
"I'm living like a double life a little bit there's me an athlete a student and then there's the social media side," Dunne said. "Roux is my little break from reality she doesn't care about all the outside noise who doesn't care how many followers I have she just doesn't I always say feel good perform good and I think that's the same for Roux in my mind she's like a little athlete."
Other celebrities who have joined ProPlan's #FueledBy campaign include swimmer Michael Phelps and his dog Onyx, hurdler Lolo Jones and her pet Loki, and sportscaster Erin Andrews and her Howie.
Olivia Dunne credits Paul Skenes for his idea to adopt a dog
Roux is a golden retriever and was adopted by Olivia Dunne and Paul Skenes in October. The LSU gymnast, in an interaction with PEOPLE, mentioned that it was the Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher's idea to adopt a dog.
"It was more Paul that wanted to get a dog because he wanted someone to keep him company during spring training," Dunne said. "And turns out we got the dog and I was not going to give it to Paul again."
Olivia Dunne's love for the pup is evidenced by the special social media page she created only for Roux's adorable photos and videos. It already has 14.7K followers on it.
Moreover, whenever Skenes reunites with Roux, both never miss out on spending quality time, and Dunne captures their bond and shares it on social media.
In other news, Dunne will return to LSU for her fifth and final year. She won the NCAA women's gymnastics title in April and now along with other Lady Tigers, she will enter the upcoming season looking to defend the program's crown.
