Nestor Cortes Jr.'s wife Alondra reacts to former Yankees LHP's trade to Brewers with Future's viral hit
Alondra Cortes, wife of former New York Yankees pitcher Nestor Cortes Jr., shared her reaction to his trade to the Milwaukee Brewers with an Instagram story. On Wednesday, Alondra posted a story regarding Nestor's move to the Brewers that featured rapper Future's viral hit track "Jersey."
The choice of the soundtrack seems on point, as Nestor will be wearing a new team jersey from the 2025 season while representing the Brewers. The story shared by Alondra included a portrait picture of her husband that said:
"Welcome to the crew. Nestor Cortes - LHP."
Nestor started playing for the Yankees in 2019 when he joined them from the Baltimore Orioles. He then played for the Seattle Mariners in the 2020 season before rejoining the Yankees in 2021 and ending his time with the Bronx Bombers after the 2024 season ended.
On Wednesday, Nestor made a post on Instagram, expressing his gratitude toward the Yankees and his excitement for joining the Brewers. He wrote in the caption of his post:
"Seems like I’ve written this too many times about NY. But I’m always grateful and proud of being groomed by the Yankee organization. A city full of life and tremendous support from the fans. Where us as players leave everything out on the field regardless of the outcome because the city is breathing and living by every win.
"With such a unique journey. I’d do it all over again if I had to. A 36 rounder in 2013. Through the years of being an organizational minor league pitcher, to having 3 different stints with the team, to becoming a MLB all star, and endless opportunities to prove myself time after time.
"With that being said I’m very excited to join the Brewers organization with so much young talent and a team that’s always competing for playoff contention. I’m ready to take on any role and just be a stepping stone to lead the team in the best of my ability every opportunity I get to pitch. Let’s go BrewCrew!!!"
Nestor Cortes Jr. celebrates his wife Alondra's birthday and his final season with the New York Yankees
Nestor Cortes celebrated a special moment with his wife, Alondra, as he marked her 28th birthday by sharing a post with his 218K followers on Instagram. He wrote a heartfelt message for his wife in the form of a caption on the special day, which read:
"Happy Birthday to my wife, my best friend, my confidant, and my forever partner. You are my everything, the one I turn to for laughter, comfort, and support. I’m so lucky to walk through life with you, sharing all the joys and challenges that come our way."
Meanwhile, Nestor's time as a player with the New York Yankees ended after the conclusion of the 2024 season, where he played in 31 games with a 3.77 ERA and a win-to-loss record of 9-10. He struck out 162 batters throughout the season.
It would be interesting to see what his first season as a Brewer will be after a decent stint with the Yankees.
