New York Mets vs Milwaukee Brewers Game Player Stats and Box Scores for October 3
The New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers squared off for one last time in the 2024 season at American Family Field on Thursday. The Brewers forced their opponent to a third wild card game after a late rally in the previous game.
Tobias Myers started out for the Brewers, while Jose Quintana took the mound for New York. Both teams managed to get on base several times but failed to score in the first three innings. Myers and Quintana had a strong start as their opponents struggled to score.
American Family Field was filled with excitement and cheer as both teams entered their seventh inning without a score. The Brewers retired Myers and brought in Trevor Megil.
While everything seemed fine for the Mets, the Brew Crew opened up with back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Relieving pitcher Jose Butto came in and surrendered both runs to give the Brewers a 2-0 lead.
New York was forced to bring in Edwin Diaz to prevent the Brewers from scoring more runs.
